More about Beach Wedding Dress Styles

You may be the type of woman who fancies something different and can’t stand the thought of a formal, traditional wedding and all the issues that this brings with it. You have come to a decision and you want to get married on a beach, well I can’t blame you.

If you are going to get married on a beach or even a boat then you want to go for a beach dress that does not flow into the sand however you will still want a dress type that you can still be proud to wear on such a special day. One option is to go for a simple sheath design in a very light material however one of the more optimum looks for a beach wedding dress is one based around an empire design. This is both from a practical point of view and an also an effective standpoint.

The focal point of the empire design dress is that because the dress is high and falls from just below the breasts we are left with enough room to shorten the length and still give the impression of a fuller length dress. We also have a short enough length so that it stays off the ground and does not trail in the sand during the ceremony.

With the empire dress we do not consider a train (due to the nature of wearing the dress in the first instance) however the bride will still maintain a resplendent look.

Holding weddings in alternative locations to Churches or a registry office is on the increase as we see couples choosing their favorite locations and surroundings even though such types of weddings are seen as less formal affairs.
In addition these types of ceremonies tend to be less expensive than traditional ones and are therefore better suited all round if one has budgetary constraints. Generally speaking the less formal the wedding, the cheaper they tend to be.

Matching the Brides Personality with the Correct Dress or Gown

It is fair to say (and I apologize to all the future grooms in advance) that it is the attitude of the bride and her personal view that will drive the type of wedding that they have and obviously having a beach wedding and a beach wedding gown is no exception.

Most people perceive a beach wedding dress as so informal that it does not allow the importance of the ceremony to shine through.
Now the bride may be a tad more free-spirited or even capricious in deciding to have a beach wedding in the first instance however a beach wedding and the wedding dress that she has chosen should still allow her to show a certain amount of class and devotion to the event whilst not looking so formal that it appears out of place against the backdrop and the guests.
Now it goes without saying that one of the main attractions of a beach wedding is the nice weather that one expects to accompany the day however this can have a down side associated with it if you chose the wrong gown and material composition.

If you are not careful the heat of the day can make you very uncomfortable to the point of not enjoying the occasion, it is therefore imperative that a beach wedding dress is made out of flowing and light. If you have a degree of bad luck and the weather turns colder then you can always resort to wearing a matching shawl to feel a little more comfortable.

Let’s now review what we have pointed out with regards to a beach wedding gown.

1. The gown is tailored to the bride and accents her positive body image.
2. The bride’s personality comes through.
3. Reaching the correct level of formality is imperative so that the ceremony does not illustrate a lack of consideration for the event.
4. The dress is made out of the appropriate material and is not too long as to trail in the sand and ruin the fabric and ‘hang’ of the overall silhouette.

So – in advance of buying any beach wedding dress you should take the opportunity to get a mental picture about the type of image that the wedding photos will project a few years in advance and your immediate level of comfortableness about this.
